Re-Elect Judge John Sholden

I have been the Judge of the 304th State District Court since January 2003. This Court’s jurisdiction includes adoptions, juvenile delinquency matters, and cases filed by Child Protective Services seeking intervention in the lives of children at risk. I believe this court deals with the most important memebrs of our community--our children.

I am the only candidate for the 304th District Court who has been rated “Qualified” by the Committee for a Qualified Judiciary (“CQJ”). The CQJ is a prestigious non-partisan panel that issues its highly sought ratings only after candidates complete extensive questionnaires and engage in face-to-face interviews

I am also the only candidate in this race who is the winner if the Dallas Bar Association prefernce poll.

I believe by background makes me uniquely qualified to appreciate all sides of the issues of this court:

Served as an Assistant District Attorney for seven years in the Juvenile Court

Represented children charged with juvenile offenses and represented parents and children in child welfare cases

Worked tirelessly as Justice of the Peace with Garland and Dallas public schools to keep kids in school while fairly but firmly handling truancy cases

Taught classes as an instructor for the Dallas Police Academy and the Dallas Sherriff's Acadmy on Juevnile Law

Served on the Greater Dallas Crime Commission as a member of the Youth Crime Causes Committee

Testified before the Texas Legislature on bills dealing with juvenile law
